Kalamazoo State Theatre opened it’s doors 90 years ago, in the roaring 20’s. To honor our 90th season and our historic venue, we are hosting a throwback party like no other, taking it way back to the swing era. Put on your 1920’s fashion and join us for our swing revival event featuring Big Bad Voodoo Daddy with special guests Out Of Favor Boys this February!
Known for their high-energy live shows, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will make you feel like you’ve stepped back into the Big Band Era. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s top hits such as “You & Me & The Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby),” “Go Daddy-O,” and “King of Swing” will have you on your feet in no time.
In Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s 24 years together, they have performed over 2800 live shows, sold over 2 million records, and have made countless appearances in television and movies. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy continues it’s decades long mission to celebrate and revitalize jazz and swing music, and bring joy to audiences around the world. Experience this joy on Saturday, February 17th at Kalamazoo State Theatre.
We are pleased to announce that Principle Food & Drink will be hosting the official after party for this event! Principle is a prohibition era themed venue approximately .1 mile (3 minute walk) north of the Kalamazoo State Theatre. This rustic-chic hangout is known for serving bespoke cocktails & elevated comfort grub made with local ingredients. They welcome everyone to come check out the basement lounge post concert.
